Sunday was my 25th Birthday. Some Birthday that turned out to be, One I will never forget that is for sure. Saturday night we knew there was a hurricane headed for us a cat. Three. With me being almost 34 weeks pregnant I didn't want to leave so we had made the choice to ride it out. However 7am on my birthday we got the call that is went up to a Cat. 5 over night and it was very scary. We packed up our family and very few things as we could and quickly as we could and headed out of town with the rest of the town sat in traffic for hours. We left at 10am and made it to Alexandria, La at 7pm what should have been a 3 hour drive. there were no hotels we stopped it a few towns and ended up staying in a shelter for 2 nights it was very hard !!! My dad was with us but it was still hard... Tuesday I finally got in touch with a friend of mien in layefette, La and we headed here Darin The kids and I and my dad headed back tot he city to help out. We have been here with my friend Laura with not much but what we came form and all phones are down the city is crazy the hurricane did a lot of damage no one is allowed back in the city for some time now .......the kids will about of school for 3 months or more .... I'm only weeks away form having this baby and have no idea what will play out with that. It a scary time to be so pregnant and my family to have no income or even a place to live if it weren't for the kind hearts of others we would be total lost we feel grateful to have this help but at the same time were so scared and homesick and glad to have out lives but have no idea if we lost our home and everything inside from baby items to clothes to keepsakes or what I thank everyone for there prayers and we plan at this point to enroll the 2 older kids in school here and find a job for my husband and if we can go home in a week great we go back to our life there if not at least he kids will be in school and we can save money for when we go back home !! once again thank you all for what you have done for us !!!!!
